Cross Country

Cross Country is the staple of distance runners in winter, and most club runners compete in their own local leagues, such as Sunday XC League or Three Counties XC League.

EMAC members are also eligible to compete in regional, National or even International level of Masters XC competitions. Fixtures of National and International competitions are listed in the British Masters Athletic Federation (BMAF) site and the entries are via Open Track.

The Inter Area XC Championship is for all master runners to compete against other regional masters clubs. EMAC is hoping to send a bigger team and everyone is welcome. It will be in March every year and we will send you an invitation when the details are published. This is a very friendly event among master runners from all over the regions rather than dead heat championship although we have every chance of winning it. The competition will be based on age graded score, so there is no restriction in the number of participants. More the merrier and stronger as a team. I hope many of you can join us.

The EMAC Cross Country Championship will be incorporated into the EAA Championship (i.e. all age group from juniors to masters), once again at Southill Park. The details and entry will be notified in our newsletter when confirmed.

Additionally, the BMAF Trail 30K Championship in summer is also basically a XC race without the slippery mud or grass of winter, but a lot longer than the usual 6-10km. The entry is via BMAF.

Some photos from major XC events in the past will follow by another email.
