Cross Country

Cross Country is the staple of distance runners in winter, and most club runners compete in their own local leagues, such as Chiltern XC League or Three Counties XC League.

EMAC members are also eligible to compete in regional, National or even International level of Masters XC competitions. Fixtures of National and International competitions are listed in the British Masters Athletic Federation (BMAF) site and the entries are via Open Track.

The Inter Area XC Championship is for all master runners to compete against other regional masters clubs but has not been held in recent years as a separate event.  It may be a bespoke event or included in an event such as the BMAF XC Champs. The competition will be based on age graded score, so there is no restriction in the number of participants.

The EMAC Cross Country Championship have been incorporated into the Eastern AA Championship (i.e. all age group from juniors to masters) for several years but not in 2025.  We hope to hold the event within their championships in 2026.

The 2026 BMAF Cross Country Champs venue has not been announced yet.

The next Cross Country International race will be held in Dublin in November 2026 with a trial/selection race in September 2026 at Betley near Crewe. See the EMAA website for more information.

The BMAF Cross Country Relays will be held in the Autumn on 24 October  2026 in at Horspath, Oxford a new venue and organising team.
