Cross Country
Cross Country is the staple of distance runners in winter, and most club runners compete in their own local leagues, such as Chiltern XC League or Three Counties XC League.
EMAC members are also eligible to compete in regional, National or even International level of Masters XC competitions. Fixtures of National and International competitions are listed in the British Masters Athletic Federation (BMAF) site and the entries are via Open Track.
The Inter Area XC Championship is for all master runners to compete against other regional masters clubs. EMAC is hoping to send a bigger team and everyone is welcome. It may be a bespoke event or included in an event such as the BMAF XC Champs. The competition will be based on age graded score, so there is no restriction in the number of participants. More the merrier and stronger as a team. I hope many of you can join us.
The EMAC Cross Country Championship have been incorporated into the Eastern AA Championship (i.e. all age group from juniors to masters) for several years. The 2024 event is at Nowton Park, Bury St Edmunds. The details and entry will be on the website and notified in our mailshots when confirmed.
The 2025 BMAF Cross Country Champs will be in Glasgow on 15 March 2025. The next Cross Country International race will be held in Leeds in November 2025 with a trial/selection race in autumn 2025.
If you have any suggestions on how we can improve EMAC cross country get in contact with Yuko Gordon – cross country secretary or Rob Lands EMAC secretary.
