Road Running Series 2019

FINAL UPDATE AND WINNER OF ROAD RUNNERS CHAMPIONSHIP

Road Running Championship 2019 Final Standings.

Yesterday’s Waterside 10K brought to a close the 2019 road runners championship and over 45 of you competed in at least one race across the year and hopefully enjoyed taking part. We witnessed some fantastic performances across the season, the highest age grading being Paul Mingay’s 93.6% at the Fenland 10. The overall championship is an average of the best three age graded performance’s across the season – so you need to be in it, to win it!!

Chris Cooke is 2019’s overall winner with an outstanding overall average of 90.2% – an amazing result across the season. Well done Chris and you will be awarded your trophy at this years AGM! Jane Ashby also had a fantastic season and finished as runner up with 87.96% (best 3 from 4). I managed to just stay ahead of fellow club mate Rod McKee on 81.24% who achieved a string of PB’s to close another fantastic year of running. Pauline Stocker 5th on 75.04% – Matthew Mason, 6th 67.46% and Keith Morris 7th – 60.03%.

Road Racing Champion – Chris Cooke

Next years campaign will grow to 7 races, with the best 4 to count – adding the Peterborough Marathon on April 5th and a 5k race (TBC) to suit all EMAC members.

The entries for Peterborough are already open – its a great race and i highly recommend it. https://www.sublimeracing.com/…/sublime-peterborough-marath…

I hope that you have all enjoyed the season and look forward to seeing you at a race soon.

Thanks

EMAC Age Grade Championship standing 2019

__________________________________________________________________________

Hello all!!

I know that a lot of you have been looking forward to this announcement with nervous excitement – so here it is, the 2019 EMAC Road Runners championship.

The races included are listed below and each will serve as the championship event with medals awarded (apart from Leigh on sea 10K)

Kimbolton 1/2 marathon 18th August – https://nicetrievents.com/events/kimbolton-half-marathon/

Leigh on Sea 10k 20th October  – (not the championship event) – https://www.active.com/leigh-on-sea-essex/running/distance-running/loss-10k-2019

Fenland 10 mile 27th October – http://www.fenlandrunningclub.co.uk/fen-10/

Wolverton 5 mile 24th November – TBC

Waterside 10k (Grafham) 15th December – https://nicetrievents.com/events/waterside-10k-road-race-2019/

When entering the events (when they go live) please tick the EMAC championship box or email/message me to make sure your included in the scoring – any questions or queries, please let me know.

The scoring is based on age grading again and the best 3 from 5 results will count to the overall score. This should allow more of you to compete for the overall trophy as we only had a handful of athletes that ran 3 or more races last year. Will any of you challenge Jonathan Haynes – last years overall winner or Paul Mingay’s stunning 90% + score at Kimbolton last year?

We also have the organiser of the Peterborough Marathon happy for us to use their event next year (2020), so we will be up to 6 races then and are very close to adding a 5k race to add to the series – so we will have a full set of distances for 2020!

Looking forward to seeing you all in person at Kimbolton and if you have any questions, don’t be afraid to get in touch.

Thanks

Ty Farrer
