Hi everyone, we want to update you on club and masters events for the coming summer.
Track & Field
1. EMAC Track & Field League
The first round went off well and we hope you enjoyed yourselves.
The second round is the first week of June.
The results were held up because the status of some athletes had to be checked – you must be a member of EMAC and registered with England Athletics to compete.
We rely on you and your team managers to manage this.
Results will be on Opentrack when ready and we will link them to the club website.
2. Eastern Masters Track & Field Championships 2026
These are hosted again by Biggleswade AC at Sandy track on Sunday 14 June 2026.
The event is already open for entries.
Please support you club championships and enter as early as you can as it helps the organisers make their plans.
We are seeking additional volunteer officials for the Championships, expense will be paid.
Please contact David Brown via me if you can help.
We will open entry to members of other Masters clubs on 29 May 2026.
Entries close on 07/06/2026 – no late entries accepted.
3. Inter Area Track & Field Championships
The representative team event is to be held at Yate on Sunday 2 August 2026.
Our club teams are selected from volunteers from the club membership.
Can you compete for EMAC?
Contact Graeme Packman (Men), Carey Hollick (Women) in the fist instance if you can.
We also need a couple of volunteers to act as Team Managers on the day as Graeme is not available and Carey will be busy organising the whole event.
Please make contact us if you can help.
4. Future diary dates – cross country
The trial for the England Masters team is on Saturday 26 September 2026 at Betley near Crewe. To be selected you need to run the trial as there are very few places available otherwise (special reasons needed).
The main event, the International race is hosted by Ireland on Saturday 14 November. Further information is not yet available. But will be on the England Masters website.
5. Road Running
We no longer have anyone on the committee to champion Road Running.
We need new people to do this.
Can you help your club and its members? Contact us please.
Renewing Membership
Membership runs for the year ended 31 March 2027.
It gives you access to EMAC events and British Masters championship.
It is also a prerequisite for competing for British Masters in European Masters and World Masters championships.
Many thanks to the 550 returning and new members who have joined the club for the new season. Our membership topped out at about 770 at the end of the last year.
I am including current and last year members in this email to remind the 200 – 300 who have yet to renew to do so. You can check your position by visiting the club pages on Opentrack .
If you aren’t sure check, you will have been sent more than one email confirming membership when you paid, go to Opentrack using the link.
I will use a new 2027/28 list for future emails so if you no longer wish to be a member of EMAC we will not email you again.
