The annual general meeting will be held on Saturday 28 November 2026 in the morning.
Problems arose at last years AGM. It is the intention of the BMAF Executive and Council to put forward incorporation at the 2026 AGM. The BMAF Council, Executive and other volunteers have been working hard since December 2025 to pull things back together and incorporate BMAF, the ethos is to work together to put on the best possible events for Masters Athletes. There are a number of hurdles that need to be jumped in this plan and the Federation constitution dictates that an AGM must be held in November.
The AGM will have motions to consider on the incorporation and actions needed, the election of officers of the BMAF and setting of affiliation fees for 2027/28.
- The exact motions will be made public in October.
- The election of officers is to protect the position – the timeline is now tight, their role will be to protect BMAF assets, move the assets to the new body (if approved) and then wind up the federation at the appropriate time.
- Last year a sum of £7.50 was set for affiliation fees. Current feeling on the Council and Executive is this was too high and the suggestion will be to return to £4 to be collected through your EMAC subscription to be set at the next EMAC AGM.
BMAF are now actively looking for more volunteers to help with the new structure. A small number of people willing to be directors of the new company and others willing to give up some time to help with parts of the general work. If interested contact me and I will pass on your name.
